Q&A with Kimberly

If you could have been born in another country, what country would it be?
I will always say Spain. They have nap time during the day, they have a fantastic outlook on life and work, the language is beautiful, the food is fabulous and it's easy to travel.

What is your favorite app on your phone or iPod?
The Camera+ app is amazing. I can spend a good chunk of time just editing photos with all the different filters and settings.

Who was your favorite musical artist when you were in the 5th grade?
I don’t know, Hanson? Or was it Backstreet Boys that was around back then?

What is the craziest thing your parents did to embarrass you growing up?
My mom would always make me raise my arms at restaurants when I was “choking” on beverages. She would also have the restaurant workers sing to me for my birthday.

What is your dream job, other than being a member of the Storm Squad?
I’d love to do anything where I could travel around the world, maybe dealing with finding out and educating people on cultures that they may never be exposed to.

What is the strangest thing in your refrigerator right now?
Nothing because I’m constantly going out to eat!

Would you rather be a princess or a rock star?
Rock star! I would get to choose my destiny rather than live under so many proper rules.

Dogs or cats?
Dogs! I became allergic to cats when I left home for college. Sad.

Night owl or early bird?
Night owl all the way. I’m more of an angry bird come morning time.

What is your guilty pleasure?
I love planning parties, redoing furniture and crafting.

NC State, Duke, or UNC?
NC State! Welcome to our state.

What is your favorite time of year and why?
October. Fall. Beautiful weather, changing leaves, my birthday, fire pits, sweaters, boots, scarves, windows down in the car, hiking, hot cocoa ... it’s amazing.

What is it that you love about North Carolina?
N.C. is the best state ever. You have a little bit of every season, you have everything in close proximity (beaches, mountains, farms, big cities), great colleges, awesome food, tailgating, the Carolina Hurricanes and people are just so nice.

What is your greatest moment in life so far?
Hiking to Machu Picchu in Peru. It was a beautiful site.
Do you have any superstitions?
I do, but I think they are all silly: opening umbrellas indoors, walking under ladders, Friday the 13th. They all make me uncomfortable.
Do you have any nicknames?
Kimmer, Kimber, Kimby ... not anything too crazy!

What is your most prized possession?
I’m such an exposed dork for saying this but ... my journals and pictures!

What was your favorite TV show when you were growing up?
Anything Disney or Nickelodeon.

What candy reminds you most of your youth?
Malt Balls. My dad used to get them fresh out of the oven at the mall.

What TV show do you wish was still on the air?
"Pan Am." I wanted to see where that show was going and it only lasted one season?!

What is your favorite book you read as a child?
"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" ... He’s going to ask for a glass of milk ...

What song makes is the best song for a road trip?
This summer it was definitely “Call Me Maybe." I also love “Party in the USA.”
