Q&A with Allison

What are the top three things on your bucket list?
1. Travel to Egypt. The riots started the Wednesday before I was supposed to leave to go on vacation there.
2. Go on the Virgin Galactic spaceflight.
3. Have an enormous shoe closet.

Where is your favorite hangout in Raleigh?
PNC Arena to watch the Hurricanes and Carter Finley to watch NC State Football.

What is your favorite app on your phone or iPod?
GeoQpons. I hate paying full price for things, and this app has a coupon for just about every store!

Who was your favorite musical artist when you were in the 5th grade?
Backstreet Boys. Nick Carter had the same birthday as me.

What is the craziest thing your parents did to embarrass you growing up?
I plead the 5th.

When did you go to your first NHL hockey game?
It was a really long time ago. I do not remember exactly when, but it was on some sort of “retro” night and I caught this enormous XXL green tie-dye canes shirt. I am still confused on why it was green tie-dye instead of red. Can anyone clear that up for me?

What is your favorite quote?
“I only want people around me who can do the impossible” – Elizabeth Arden

Would you rather be a princess or a rock star?
I can’t sing so becoming a rock star is out of the question. A princess would be my best bet.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you as a member of the Storm Squad?
I am guilty of slinging a shirt into the opposing teams bench. I got a round of applause after that one. Oopsies!

If you were on "American Idol," what song would you choose to sing?
Whatever song I chose would get me to the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly episode and that’s about it.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I would love to have the ability to snap my fingers and transport myself to wherever it is that I need to be. For one, I am always so busy, and I wish I could get to places quickly. Two, it would be way cheaper than filling my car up with gas!

Dogs or cats?
Dogs! You can’t say this about a cat: “A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.” – Marley and Me

Night owl or early bird?
I’m going to have to say night owl. I think cranky might be an understatement to how I am in the early morning!

What is your guilty pleasure?
Oreos. I can’t stop eating them.

NC State, Duke or UNC?
NC STATE! It’s a Wolfpack party, baby!

In what event would you win an Olympic gold medal?
Gymnastics for sure! How cool would it have been to be a part of the Magnificent Seven or the Fab Five or even the Quad Squad!

What is your greatest moment in life so far?
I am very proud of myself for getting into graduate school.

Do you have any superstitions?
Friday the 13th kind of freaks me out a little bit.

Do you have any nicknames?
In high school I got the name “Ace.” People still call me that, and I love it!

What is your most prized possession?
My granny and grandaddy gave me a ring that has three diamonds in it, each from a different family member. The ring itself was the first ring my grandaddy gave my granny.

If you could have a celebrity entourage with three celebrities, who would they be?
Victoria Beckham for fashion purposes, Miranda Lambert to be hard core and Emma Stone for comedic relief!

What candy reminds you most of your youth?
Warheads, especially the blue raspberry. Those were the most sour!

What TV show do you wish was still on the air?
Boy Meets World. I wonder if Corey and Topanga have kids?

What is your favorite book you read as a child?
"The Velveteen Rabbit." Because of this book, I always thought my stuffed animals came alive when I wasn’t in the room.
What song is the best song for a road trip?
Any boy band song from the 90's! I probably know every word to every song from those boy bands.
