The Kids ‘N Community Foundation has increased its impact in the community thanks to unique and interactive fundraising opportunities for our fans. The success of these events, as well as other fundraisers throughout the year, relies on support from fans and Hurricanes players, coaches, front office executives, broadcasters and staff who attend each major fundraiser. Silent Auction ItemsSilent Auctions are held at every home game throughout the season. Place the highest bid to take home autographed game-worn jerseys, game-used sticks, gloves, helmets, pucks, replica jerseys, pennants, framed photographs and more. Visit the Kids 'N Community Foundation kiosk adjacent to Section 129. The auction ends five minutes into the second intermission.

Out-of-town bids are accepted for game-night auctions if received within 24 hours of auction start. Send us an email to submit an out-of-town bid.

The 2015-16 silent auctions generated over $80,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

NHL Online Auctions are held regularly on the main NHL site. Jerseys, pucks, game-used equipment, replica sticks, commemorative night jerseys, photos and more are available throughout the year. All proceeds from the online auction benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

Canes 5k

Canes 5kThe fourth annual Canes 5k assisted by Raleigh Orthopaedic and Quintiles will take place at PNC Arena on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. Race registration includes a ticket voucher for a select Hurricanes home game in November, customized race bib, t-shirt, post-race breakfast and a chance to win raffle prizes!

The event includes a 5k race around PNC Arena and surrounding areas, 100- and 200-yard kids dashes, multiple inflatables, and appearances by Stormy and the Storm Squad. Members of the Carolina Hurricanes as well as the team’s staff and alumni are scheduled to participate.

Carolina Ale House

Paper HeartsPoints for Kids
Through Points for Kids, the Carolina Ale House joins the effort to raise money for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation by donating $100 for each point the Hurricanes obtain in the NHL standings. During the 2015-16 season, Carolina Ale House donated $10,000 to the Kids 'N Community Foundation. The Hurricanes are grateful for the generosity and support of the Ale House.

Paper Hearts and Magnet Campaign
The 2016 campaign ran during the month of February. Fifteen local Ale House locations participated, including the Concord, Wilmington, Greenville, Fayetteville and Jacksonville restaurants. Each location sold paper hearts for $1 and magnetic hearts for $3. The Ale House raised a total of $12,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation during the 2016 Paper Hearts and Magnet Campaign.

Kids 'N Community Golf Tournament

Golf TournamentThe 18th Annual Kids 'N Community Golf Tournament presented by BlueStaff / BlueLine Associates will take place on Sept. 19, 2016 at Prestonwood Country Club. Hurricanes players, coaches, alumni, broadcasters and management will join each participating foursome for 18 holes of golf on one of Prestonwood’s championship courses. Each registered golfer will receive a gift bag valued at $250, on-course boxed lunch, snacks and beverages and a tax receipt for participation.. Following the tournament, golfers will enjoy a reception with dinner and an open bar where prizes will be awarded to the tournament’s top teams and individual-hole contest winners. Participants will later attend a Hurricanes preseason game and a pre-game reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages The 2015 golf tournament raised $40,000 for the Foundation.

Skate with the Canes

Skate with the CanesThe 18th Annual Skate with the Canes event took place on Sunday, Jan. 10 at PNC Arena. This event is one of the most interactive, all-access, behind-the-scenes, player-friendly events that the Carolina Hurricanes offer each year. It is a special Kids ‘N Community Foundation fundraising event that allows fans and players to interact in an intimate environment by rotating through autographs, locker room photos and skating sessions in small groups of 200.

The $75 ticket included all the activities above, a special gift, poster and food and beverage. The 2016 Skate with the Canes raised over $30,000 for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

Casino Night presented by PNC

Casino Night The 11th Annual Casino Night presented by PNC, the signature fundraiser for the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, was held on Sunday, March 6.

This year’s Casino Night was themed as “I Love the 80’s.” The evening was filled with fun and excitement with Hurricanes players, coaches, broadcasters, and front office executives. The event included non-cash prize casino games such as poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps. Hurricanes players acted as dealers for the night, while participants enjoyed live music, a full-service food buffet, open bar and features such as a silent and live auction.

The silent auction included nearly 100 items, highlighted by popular “player baskets,” assembled by each player with their favorite things. The live auction included 10 items, headlined by the “Trip with the Team.” The 2016 Casino Night raised over $200,000 for local, non-profit children’s organizations.

Hurricanes Alumni Fantasy Game presented by Lenovo

Alumni Fantasy Game2016 marked the 10th anniversary of the Hurricanes Stanley Cup victory. The celebration weekend kicked off on Friday, Feb. 12 with a Champions Tailgate with the Cup, an exclusive pregame party that featured appearances from select members of the 2005-06 championship team and the Stanley Cup.

The Carolina Hurricanes hosted their fifth annual Alumni Fantasy Game presented by Lenovo on Sunday, Feb. 14 at PNC Arena. This was a memorable game as over 12 players from the 2005-06 championship team were reunited on the ice for the first time since hoisting the Cup in June 2006.

The event was open to the public and no ticket was required, however there was an optional contribution to the Kids ‘N Community Foundation at the door. For the more than 20 paying participants, the $4,000 entry fee included participation in the game, practice on PNC Arena ice prior to the game, a personalized Hurricanes jersey with commemorative patch, two tickets to two Hurricanes home game, a DVD of the game called by John Forslund and access for four people to a VIP postgame cocktail reception. Hurricanes alumni included Rod Brind’Amour, Ray Whitney, Glen Wesley, Doug Weight, Erik Cole, Bret Hedican, Frantisek Kaberle, Mike Commodore, Niclas Wallin, Kevyn Adams, Craig Adams and Andrew Hutchinson.

In total, the weekend raised over $80,000 to benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.

We Love the Hurricanes Luncheon

We Love the Hurricanes LuncheonThe Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce / Greater Raleigh Sports Council hosts the We Love the Hurricanes Luncheon annually at PNC Arena to benefit the Kids ‘N Community Foundation. This event was held on Oct. 5 and provided participants with an inside look at the upcoming season and lunch with Hurricanes players, coaches, front office staff and broadcasters. This year, the luncheon contributed $19,000 to the Kids 'N Community Foundation.
